Reminders For Wednesday, May 6

  • A few reminders for cap and gown pick up
    • Everyone must stay in their cars.
    • Please follow the directions of staff and officers because we don’t want to back up onto Old Alabama Road
    • Cap and gown distribution is for students who have paid in full for their cap and gown.
    • Some cords are not available because of plant closure, we will schedule a pickup day or give them out at graduation
    • The senior MUST be present in the car to receive their cap and gown. We cannot distribute them to anyone else

Hispanic Scholarship Funds Deadline

About HSF

HSF is the nation’s leading provider of scholarships and services designed to give Latino students full access to the opportunity a college education can provide. Founded in 1975, we have awarded over $619 million in scholarships. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000, and Finalists who do not receive financial awards nevertheless qualify to be HSF Scholars and have access to our full range of Scholar Support Services, such as  career coaching, internship and full-time employment opportunities, mentoring, leadership development, and wellness resources, including tools for self-advocacy, well-being, and knowledge building.

Phase I of the HSF Scholarship Application is now open!


The application only takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete, as no essays or recommendations are required for Phase I.

HSF Scholarship Application Deadline for Phase I: February 15, 2020, 5:00 PM PT
This could be the opportunity of a lifetime! To get started, students should visit 
HSF.net  and create a MyHSF profile. Doing so will enable them to fill out a scholarship application and learn more about what we have to offer.

Timeline:
  • January – Phase I of the HSF Scholarship Application opened and closes February 15, 2020, 5:00PM PT
  • February – Candidates who have submitted Phase I of the scholarship application will be evaluated; the most competitive will be selected as Finalists and advance to Phase II
  • March – Finalists are announced and asked to submit essays and recommendations
  • May/June – HSF Scholars are announced, both funded and waitlisted
  • June to December – Document Verification (SAR, Transcripts, Enrollment, etc.)
  • October to January – Awards are disbursed
Eligibility:
  • Must be of Hispanic heritage
  • U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, DACA, or eligible non-citizen (as defined by FAFSA)
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the U.S., during the fall of a scholarship cycle (academic year)
  • Submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms (if applicable)

Grad Bash in Orlando

Students wanting to attend the trip to Orlando Florida for Grad Bash should complete permission form and money for $205.  We will have a maximum of 50 students that are able to attend.  Money is due immediately accepting cash or credit card payments ONLY!

Black History Program

Seniors will be allowed to attend the Black History Program this Friday during 2nd Block.  February 7th at 9:50AM show will begin.
